Lower Secondary Overview
Lower Secondary students’ study three major subjects which are Mathematics, English, and Science. Students also study a range of broad, enjoyable subjects to lay the necessary foundations for their IGCSE studies.
Lower Secondary courses offer the carefully curated balance of challenge, academic excellence, and fun for the students. This concoction allows students to flourish and reach their full potential.
Lower Secondary is split into 2 years as follows:
- Year 7: In Year 7, students get to learn about the fundamentals of mathematics, english, and sciences that will prepare them for exploring these subjects in the following year. Students are eased into the curricula of the British system and get introduced to what they will learn in the next few years.
- Year 8: In Year 8, students dig deeper into the topics they have learned in the preceding year. The topics the students cover in year 8 lay the foundation for what they will learn during their IGCSEs.
Mathematics
The aim of this course is to equip students with the basic mathematical and critical thinking skills which will enable them to make connections between data sets.
English
The aim of this course is to help students acquire basic English skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
Science
This course aims to pique students' curiosity in diverse scientific topics, exploring real-world phenomena and the underlying scientific principles.
