The aim of this course is to equip students with essential English skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, providing a strong foundation for further exploration in IGCSE English. Key topics include grammar fundamentals, vocabulary and comprehension development, along with focused practice in speaking and listening.

Develop the ability to use English effectively for practical communication.

Skill Foundation

Build a solid foundation in skills necessary for further study or employment, where English is the medium of communication.

Awareness and Development

Enhance awareness of the nature of language and language-learning skills, and promote personal development.

Assessment Components

Paper 2 - Reading and Writing

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Content: Includes six exercises testing a range of reading and writing skills.
  • Scoring: Out of 80, contributes 70% to the total mark.

Paper 4 - Listening

  • Duration: 50 minutes
  • Scoring: Out of 40, contributes 30% to the total mark.
